Warehouse Lead

The Warehouse Lead is responsible for assisting the Supervisor and WH Manager in all day-to-day activities and overall associate performance for inbound and outbound product movement and shipping activities. They will also help plan, organize, and monitor the receiving, storage, and distribution of all items to ensure a smooth and consistent operation. This position helps prepare and execute strategies to meet the department’s daily, weekly, and monthly goals. Responsibilities also include helping the Supervisor and Manager coach and manage associates to high-performance standards and recognizing individual and team success.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Operational responsibilities include supervising the daily work and safety of Warehouse Associates engaged in order selection, product replenishment, and shipment of products
Monitors and assists with the unloading of all finished products into and out of the facility; ensures materials are staged for counting and inspection; ensures receiving/shipping reports accurately report material received/shipped.
Monitors and measures receiving and shipping warehouse performance for accuracy of locator, material movement, and storage.
Conducts audits daily ensuring all required documentation is accurately completed and that material is handled and stored correctly with a minimum potential for loss. Resolves discrepancies with accounting regarding invoices, packing slips, and shipping/receiving reports. Monitors the flow of paperwork from receiving to inventory control for timely data entry to order processing and shipping.
Helps plan and coordinate work, trains and motivates, monitors, and evaluates the performance of warehouse associates; ensures their ability to safely operate material handling equipment to move materials to and from storage configurations; counsels, records, and disciplines as necessary
Helps develop and execute daily and weekly action plans to meet department and distribution center performance expectations
Understand all safety procedures; ensure safe work practices are followed and maintain a safe work environment

Position Requirements:

Education:
Required: High School Diploma. College Degree a plus
Experience:
Required: 3 to 5 years of work-related experience in a warehouse environment is preferred.

Experience and working knowledge of warehouse systems, processes, and productivity.

Specialized Training or Technical Knowledge Licenses, Certifications Needed:
Knowledge of warehouse management systems (SAP a plus).

Forklift certification is preferred but will train where applicable.

Functional Knowledge:

Demonstrate time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple priorities with a high degree of initiative

Good communication (spoken and written) skills

Process improvement mentality that identifies areas for more efficient and effective approaches to contracting
Company / Industry-Related Knowledge:
Pharmaceuticals experience is a plus but not required

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to lift, pull, push up to 75lbs
