Director, Supply Chain

Position Title: Director, Supply Chain Department: Supply Chain
Reports To: CEO Work Location: East Brunswick, NJ

Position Summary:
Responsible and accountable for leading the supply chain process and relationships with our partner contract manufacturing organizations (CMO). This role ensures the optimization of inventory and COGS  while managing and coordinating ongoing supply chain transformation & process improvement.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Create and maintain processes to optimize inventories, new product launches, and standardized material master work processes
• Develop performance metrics (leading and lagging indicators) to drive change and cross-functional accountability to strengthen operations margins and decrease cost
• Prepare management reports to identify issues and recommend solutions. Collect and analyze data to assist with decision-making for supply chain management, operations strategy, and long-term strategic planning
• Lead long-term capacity planning to translate strategic demand plan to supply actions
• Perform risk management and constraint analysis on key materials. Recommend and implement risk mitigation activities
• Build relationships with strategic suppliers
• Work with internal teams (Business Development, Marketing, Demand Planning, Sales, etc.) to develop market intelligence and analysis of supplier capabilities and offerings, competitive landscape, market trends, and impact of various factors on cost, price, and availability of API’s and finished dosage forms
• Integrate learning from customers, competitors, operating entities, distribution, transportation, customer service, other industries, industry groups, and professional training to continuously improve the competitive position
• Support supply chain security (serialization, track & trace) and compliance initiatives and support financial budget, intra-year estimate updates, and target-setting process
• Supply improvement, capacity expansion projects, investment planning
• Deliver continuous bottom-line savings by providing project management support, Business process improvement, Operational efficiency improvements
• Interact with Finance in optimizing inventory and cash flow
• Interact with Regulatory/Quality on Supply Chain Activities to ensure compliance. Drive the supply preparation for all new product launches. Have deep knowledge of DSDSA requirements.

Position Requirements:
Education:
Required: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain & Logistics, or a directly related field. MBA in a related field is a plus
Experience:
Required: Minimum 10 years of experience in Generic Pharmaceutical supply chain operations
Specialized Training or Technical Knowledge Licenses, Certifications Needed:
• Strong Knowledge of SAP required

• Strong consultative and interpersonal skills. Ability to prioritize and multitask. Strong attention to detail and ability to summarize and communicate at all levels of the organization

• Proficiency in the use of MS Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Access)

Company / Industry-Related Knowledge:
Pharmaceutical knowledge in Generics is a must
